WHAT IS MIXALBUM?

MixAlbum.com is a music download service. It is similar to other music sites in that you purchase tracks and then download them to your computer. The difference with MixAlbum.com is that you can also mix any tracks you’ve bought with other tracks and download them mixed together.

This is made possible by CAMMS (Computer Aided Music Mixing System) – the patented technology powering our system

To use the site you will need: Windows XP, A media player which plays WMA (Windows Media Audio) files, Macromedia Flash, space on your hard drive to store your downloads, and obviously broadband connection. If you don’t have broadband connection congratulations on getting this far. You will also need zip software and this comes as standard with Windows XP.

For launch the tracks you buy will stay in your TRACKLIST for you to use in as many mixes as you want, but eventually we will have to limit this to a reasonable number of times.

What CAN'T you do with the mix once you've bought it?

The mix is something you designed and paid for and it's for you to enjoy - it would be illegal to resell or share the mix file. We make sure each mix is unique and we store your email address in the unmixed downloads, so please do not distribute it.

Do we use DRM?

Some tracks will be secured in DRM - this means they will have to be downloaded as a WMA and you will only be able to burn it to CD a limited number of times, copy it to a few portable players etc. Most of the tracks on MixAlbum are non DRM though, and any tracks which are DRM encoded will be clearly stated at checkout and in the Track Details page.

Can mixes be copied between computers/mp3 players?

Yes, but please remember the mixes are for your own personal use only - although letting your mates hear it and pretending it was you who did the mixing is acceptable use also.

What bit rate are our mp3s encoded at?

At the moment all our downloads and mixes are saved at 192kbps. We will soon be introducing an option to download everything at 320kbps.

Minimum spec

Can I hear the track / mix before I buy it?

To hear a sample of a particular song, click on the track image and then click the "SAMPLE" button. To hear a mix between any two tracks use the Demo Mixer. These mixes will sound the same in a bought full length mix (although the speed may change depending on your selection in the Mix Trigger page.

Why do I need a Username?

So we can save any mix you buy and your singles, and store how you left your tracklist.

Do I need an e-mail address?

Yes - otherwise we can't email you details of your mix, links to your downloads etc. Rest assured this is All we use your email address for and do not give it out to other parties unless you've specifically told us we can. You may get chart info and special offers if you ticked the box on registration, but you can cancel this at any time by clicking on My Account.

Why do I need to give you a password?

To verify the person using your account is you. Keep this password safe because if other people use your account this may breach piracy laws.

Can I opt out of the chart/special offers emails?

Yes - just change the settings in My Account.

What if you have any problems?

Email us at info@mixalbum.com and we'll sort you out asap - usually within 24 hours during weekdays.
What if you can't hear the demo mixes?

What if your download gets interrupted?

If you get cut off while you're downloading just log in again and try again, it should continue downloading where it left off.

Do I need to be connected to the Internet when I play my downloaded music?

If it is DRM encoded then you will have to be online the first time, but not after that.

What hardware can I play the downloaded music on?

Anything that supports the standard mp3 or WMA format.

What forms of payment do we accept?

Any debit or credit card supported by PayPal.

Is it safe to use my credit card?
